PERFECT! Exactly as described!
I was using this for several months with my rescue dog and then decided to stop to save money because I wasn't sure it was really helping. Recently she seemed extra anxious and was barking at my housemate more, so I decided to try this again. It is definitely making a difference. She is noticeably more calm. I had to go away for a couple nights too, with my housemate taking care of her, and she did pretty well without me compared to other recent trips. So this is going back on my Subscribe n Save! (Note that while this is the only thing I changed so I can confirm it is helping, it alone would not be enough to manage her anxiety. She is treated by a vet with a couple meds too.)
Dog: Lincoln is a 2 year old Pom/Toy Poodle/Bichon Frisé/Maltese mix breed male. Weight: fluctuates between 13-15 pounds. Neck circumference = 10 inches Chest circumference (around largest part of chest) = 17 inches Length of body (back of neck down to base of tail) = 15 inches I purchased 2 sizes. He’s wearing size xs in the video which fit him perfectly but with the many thick velcros, he wasn’t able to lay down comfortably. He’s wearing a size small in the picture, which wraps completely around his neck and body. However, it’s a little too long, but was better to move around in and lay down comfortably. There’s a huge difference between the 2 sizes. He’s skittish and fearful so he barks at everything. He’s especially scared of any and all vacuum cleaners, but as you can see in the video, he’s curiously but cautiously going up to the vacuum without barking. His Thundershirt keeps him calmer and more confident around people, other dogs and loud noises. I like the xs on him because it looks like a nicer fit, but he’s more comfortable in the small. Gave the xs to my sister’s 5 pound chihuahua and he loves it. It truly is like swaddling a baby. Made of sturdy material and easy to clean. Reviews really help my decisions on purchases so I hope this can help someone else. I recommend this product.
Because my new rescued maltipoo has separation anxiety, my vet recommended for her. I was skeptical of how something like this could work. I put it on her and she just sat still. I could leave the house for 1/2 hour and she didn't chew anything up nor did she whine. I am confident that I can now leave and do my errands and appointments with her feeling safe for as long as I need. The fit was perfect. She could move around with ease. It was easy to put on because of the stretchiness. I am so thankful the vet recommended it. I now have peace of mind and she is comfortable.
